We're having a special showing of Backcountry Magazine’s BOUND Film Series February 20th at 7:00 pm.
The four-part film series explores people, places, and stories that push backcountry skiing boundaries.
The film ‘Grand Aspirations’ showcases guiding on the Grand Teton from its storied past from Bill Brigg’s first ski descent in 1971 and Doug Coombs first guided trip in 2004 through today. In ‘The Headwaters’ one is taken on a ski tour through the Sierra Nevada Mountains to investigate a season’s snowpack. ‘Crabs and Corn’ blends the story of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts’ historic fishing culture with that of the backcountry and features Vermont skier Louise Lintilhac. ‘Timing’, filmed in Montana’s Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains proves that the best ski photographers are not the ones with the most expensive cameras, but the ones who capture the wildest moments in the craziest places.
Doors to the Museum open at 6:30 and guests and their families are invited to view the new ORIGINS exhibit and socialize. The films begin at 7:00. Craft beer is provided by Von Trapp Brewing. Wine, cider and popcorn will also be available. Entry donation is $10 for an Adult and $5 for children 12 and under. Help support the museum's mission to "Collect, Preserve and Celebrate Vermont's Skiing and Snowboarding Heritage".
